 Air India Flight a, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, air craft crashed shortly after take off  from Sardar vallabhbhai patel International Airport in  Ahmedabad .




According to the (DGCA) there were 242 people on board the aircraft-  230 Passengers , 2 pilots and 10 crew cabin members.

The flight, Passengers 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals,” it said.


At least 120 people have been feared dead in the incident. An official toll from the government is awaited.

Ahmedabad airport has resumed flight operations after temporary suspending  all services after the air India crash.

A flight from Ahmadabad, departing from runway 23, failed to respond to ATC calls, resulting in the aircraft falling on the ground outside the airport perimeter, with heavy black smoke visible at the time of IST 13:39 .

The aircraft was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kundar, both with 8,200 and 1,100 hours of experience respectively, commanded the aircraft.

A Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on a global scale. This specific aircraft was handed over to Air India in January 2014. According to flight tracking data, the aircraft's signal was lost at an altitude of merely 625 feet, shortly after takeoff. It subsequently descended at a vertical velocity of 475 feet per minute.
